At present, there are three main types of materials suitable for making building door and window sealing strips: rubber, plastic and rubber plastic blend materials. Foreign mainly rubber materials, respectively, chloroprene rubber (CR), nitrile rubber (NBR), silicone rubber (SiR) and ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM); domestic mainly modified plastic materials, mainly plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC), plasticized polypropylene (PP). In addition, rubber and plastic blending materials are also used at home and abroad. The following is a brief introduction to the performance of various sealant materials, so that we can better understand.

 

Natural rubber

It has good wear resistance, high elasticity and mechanical properties. The disadvantage is that it is easy to age in the air, become sticky when exposed to heat, easy to expand and dissolve in mineral oil, alkali resistance but not strong acid resistance. The operating temperature range is -55 ℃ ~ 80 ℃.

 

nitrile rubber

The main features are oil resistance, solvent resistance, but not resistant to ketones, esters and chlorinated hydrocarbons and other media. The sulfide has small permanent deformation and good elastic and mechanical properties. The disadvantage is that it is easy to age and crack in ozone and oxygen, and its cold resistance is poor. The operating temperature range is -30 ℃ ~ 120 ℃.

 

Neoprene

Neoprene English name is CHLOROPRENE RUBBER, its abbreviation is CR.

Chlorine atoms in the molecules of chloroprene rubber and polyvinyl chloride plastics have outstanding flame retardancy. Neoprene can burn slowly in a fire, and once the flame is isolated, the burning neoprene will extinguish itself. Under the action of high temperature, hydrogen chloride gas can be decomposed to naturally extinguish the flame.

Neoprene has excellent compression deformation resistance, and it only loses 0.15cm3 after walking 1 mile on the Akron abrasion tester.

The resistance to compression deformation of chloroprene rubber is excellent, because the rubber has good elasticity, even in the long-term compression deformation state still has a large clamping force.

Silicone rubber

The English name of silicone rubber is SILICONE RUBBER, which is abbreviated as SR. Silicone rubber is a polymer of silicone monomers. The working temperature range of silicone rubber is wide and can be adapted to work at -100 ℃ ~ 300 ℃. Silicone rubber has excellent odor resistance and does not crack in air containing 150pphm of ozone for several months.

The silicone rubber is excellent in electrical insulation and has a volume resistance of (2-10) × 1014 Ω · cm. Even if it is affected with moisture, water or temperature rises, the electrical insulation is still good. Even after being burned, the ash is silica and is still an insulator. This makes it possible to avoid the expansion of the accident due to the electrical short circuit.

Silicone rubber has excellent compression deformation resistance. Because rubber has good elasticity, it still has a large clamping force even in a long-term compression deformation state. Silicone rubber can be stored for up to 20 years.

Polyurethane rubber

It has excellent elasticity and wear resistance, good air impermeability, high damping and damping performance, in addition to medium oil resistance, oxygen resistance and ozone aging resistance. The disadvantage is not acid, alkali and water. The operating temperature range is -30 ℃ ~ 80 ℃.

 

It is made of EPDM rubber and silicone rubber. At the same time, it has good weather resistance, chemical resistance, high and low temperature resistance and other properties of EPDM rubber and silicone rubber. The operating temperature range is -95 ℃ ~ 200 ℃.

 

It is made of chloroprene rubber and silicone rubber, which not only has ozone resistance, weather resistance and flame resistance, but also has the outstanding high and low temperature resistance of silicone rubber, ozone resistance and weather aging resistance, excellent hydrophobicity and proper permeability, and unparalleled insulation performance. Different from the general neoprene rubber is more effective to solve the compatibility of neoprene and silicone rubber. The operating temperature range is -50 ℃ ~ 150 ℃.
